As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year filled with hope, hard work, and heart. S.M.A.R.T. of Flagler County rescued and rehabilitated over 130 dogs this year—each one a story of resilience, compassion, and community action. Some of these were reunited with owners after being reported lost.
A Year of Community Coming Together
This year brought our community together in extraordinary ways. Our signature events—Cruisin’ 4 Paws, Jamin’ 4 Paws, and our annual Fashion Show—showcased the incredible spirit of Flagler County. Seeing hundreds of animal lovers come together to support our mission reminded us that we’re never alone in this work. The energy, generosity, and joy at each event fueled our rescue efforts throughout the year.
And we’re already looking ahead with excitement! In January, we’ll celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Rainbow Bridge memorial at Holland Park with co-sponsor East Coast Animal Hospital—a beautiful tribute to all the beloved pets who’ve crossed over, and a testament to the bond we share with our furry family members.
Why Our Work Matters
Our mission is simple but urgent: to be there 24/7 for every lost, abandoned, or injured dog in Flagler County. This wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated fosters, who open their homes in the middle of the night, our volunteers, who give their time and hearts to every dog in our care, and our sponsors, whose generosity covers everything from emergency vet care to food and supplies. You are the reason these dogs find safety, healing, and loving forever homes.
Every week, we answer calls from families desperate to find missing pets, from deputies at the scene of animal emergencies, and from neighbors who just want to help. With no physical shelter, our foster network is the lifeline for these animals. Your support ensures we can respond quickly, provide medical care, and give each dog the second chance they deserve.
