As a foster, you play a vital role in helping them become more confident and adoptable. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch a once-nervous dog blossom under your care, knowing you’ve given them the love and stability they needed to start over.

Fostering entails providing basic care, such as food, shelter, exercise, and affection, along with possibly helping with training or transporting the dog to vet visits or adoption events.

SMART covers the major expenses, including veterinary care and supplies, so you’re never alone in the process. Foster families are supported every step of the way, and you’re encouraged to communicate any concerns or observations about the dog’s behavior and needs. While saying goodbye can be emotional, knowing you’ve helped a dog get one step closer to a forever home is an incredibly fulfilling experience.
